Sheet Music Printing — Frequently Asked Questions

What file formats do you accept for printing?

We accept PDF, Sibelius (.sib), Dorico (.dorico), Finale (.musx), MuseScore (.mscz), and MusicXML files. For best print quality, we recommend PDF files at minimum 300 DPI resolution with 0.5-inch margins on all sides. If your file uses a non-standard page size, let us know and we’ll advise on the best paper match.

Can you print from handwritten scores?

We only print from digital files. If you have handwritten manuscripts, we recommend our music engraving service to create a professional digital version first, which we can then print for you. This ensures the highest quality output.

Can you print orchestral parts and scores?

Yes. We regularly print full orchestral scores on Tabloid (11×17″) or 12×18″ paper, along with individual parts on Letter or Concert size paper. Our parts extraction service can prepare individual parts from your full score if needed.

Do you offer color printing?

Our standard service is high-quality black-and-white laser printing, optimized for sheet music readability and music stand use. For projects requiring color printing (pedagogical materials, color-coded scores), please contact us for a custom quote.

What is the maximum page count you can bind?

Saddle stitch binding works well for up to approximately 80 pages. For larger scores, we recommend coil (spiral) binding, which accommodates virtually any page count and allows scores to lay flat on a music stand — ideal for performers and conductors.

Can you print copyrighted music?

We print files that you provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to reproduce any copyrighted material. We are happy to print your original compositions, public domain works, and any materials for which you hold valid reproduction rights.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide from Ottawa, Canada. Shipping options include economy mail (untracked, for lighter packages) and tracked shipping. Rates vary by destination and package weight — use our calculator above for estimates.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs depend on your order's total weight and destination:

  • Canada: Economy mail from $3.00 USD (under 100g), tracked from $15.00 USD
  • United States: Economy mail from $4.00 USD (under 100g), tracked from $20.00 USD
  • International: Economy mail from $8.00 USD (under 100g), tracked from $30.00 USD

Economy mail is available for packages up to 500g. Heavier orders ship via tracked service. Use our instant calculator for exact estimates.

Do you offer proofreading before printing?

Yes. Our music proofreading service can review your scores for notation errors, formatting issues, and consistency before printing. This is a separate service — we especially recommend it for original compositions or newly engraved scores to ensure accuracy before committing to print.
