How does remote recording work?

Remote recording gives you studio-quality results without the logistics of booking a physical session. The Audio Engineering Society recognizes remote recording as a standard professional workflow. In our experience, the process is straightforward and typically takes 3–5 business days.

  • Step 1: Send us your track, sheet music, chord chart, or reference recording along with style direction
  • Step 2: Our session musicians record in a professional studio environment using industry-standard gear
  • Step 3: We deliver high-quality 24-bit/48kHz WAV stems (dry and processed) to your inbox
  • Step 4: One revision round is included to fine-tune the performance to your vision

What quality are the recordings?

All recordings are delivered as 24-bit/48kHz WAV files — studio-quality stems ready for professional mixing. We include both dry (unprocessed) and lightly processed versions so you have full control.

Can I request specific styles or techniques?

Absolutely. Tell us the style, feel, dynamics, and any specific techniques you want (fingerpicking, bowing style, pedal use, etc.). Reference tracks are welcome — the more direction you provide, the better we can match your vision.

What’s included in a session?

Every session includes one complete take per instrument, dry and processed WAV stems (24-bit/48kHz), and one revision round. Additional takes and extra revisions are available as add-ons.

Can you record from my sheet music or just by ear?

Both. We can record from your sheet music, chord charts, MIDI files, or reference recordings. If you have written notation, we’ll follow it precisely. If you have a reference track, we’ll match the style and feel. If no sheet music is provided and the part needs to be transcribed first, transcription fees may apply separately.

How long does it take?

Most single-track recordings are delivered in 3–5 business days. Multi-instrument projects may require additional time. Rush delivery is available for urgent projects.

How much does a session recording cost?

Session recording is priced per minute of finished audio, with rates varying by instrument and complexity.

  • Standard rate: From $49 USD per minute of audio ($69 CAD)
  • Minimum project fee: $149 USD ($209 CAD)
  • Multi-instrument projects: Quoted separately based on arrangement complexity
  • Includes: One complete take, dry and processed WAV stems (24-bit/48kHz), and one revision round
